Schools
Rockwall Independent School District is one of the top school districts in the state, an asset that is not only great for families, but also for cultivating Rockwall’s future workforce.
Rockwall ISD
Currently, there are over 18,000 students who make up 16 elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, the Burton College and Career Academy, and the Rockwall Quest Academy, an alternative education program. The Rockwall ISD boundary contains all or parts of Rockwall, Heath, Fate, McLendon-Chisolm, and Rowlett. RISD also has two ninth grade centers currently under construction, and is currently working on design plans for an additional middle school.
Dedicated teachers, parents, and students have created a tradition of excellence that makes RISD one of the most recognized and top-performing school districts in the State of Texas. Rockwall ISD has consistently earned an “A” rating under the Texas Accountability Rating System, putting the school district in the top 10% of Texas school districts in 2022.
Our educational resources offer a wealth of opportunities, including Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs, culinary classes, athletics, robotics, service initiatives, and a college and career academy.
Below you’ll find a map showing the numerous campuses within the district.
Higher Education
Once our students have graduated high school, there are plenty of nearby colleges and universities to attend, as well. You can find more information about our local education partners here.
That commitment to education can be seen when looking at Rockwall’s demographics. At least 47.5% of our residents have at least a bachelor’s degree, which is significantly more than the state average of 31.5%.
