Dedicated teachers, parents, and students have created a tradition of excellence that makes RISD one of the most recognized and top-performing school districts in the State of Texas. Their hard work is paying off: the RISD has been earned an “A” rating for two consecutive years under the Texas Accountability Rating System.
From Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs to culinary, athletics, robotics, service initiatives, and a college and career academy, our educational resources provide a wealth of opportunities.
Once our students have graduated high school, there are plenty of nearby colleges and universities to attend, as well:
• Collin County Community Colleges
• Dallas County Community Colleges
• Texas Tech University (at the Gene Burton Academy)
• Eastfield College
• Texas A&M Commerce
• Dallas Baptist
• University of Texas Dallas
• University of North Texas

That commitment to education can be seen when looking at Rockwall’s demographics. At least 44.4% of our residents have at least a bachelor’s degree, which is significantly more than the State (30%) and National (32.9%) averages.
